Travel Details

Santa Barbara is known as the American Riviera and is easily accessible by train, plane and automobile.

If you’re flying:

The Santa Barbara Municipal Airport (SBA) is one of the easiest airports we’ve ever flown in and out of and is a quick 20-minute, 11-mile drive with rental cars and rideshares readily available.

The Los Angeles Airport (LAX) is a more challenging 2-hour, 100-mile drive through some of LA’s notorious traffic, but skip the rental car and take one of Santa Barbara Airbus offers shuttles with service every 2-2.5 hours starting at 8:00am until 10:00pm. Click here for more information.

If you’re training:

Amtrak offers regular service through Santa Barbara on the Pacific Surfliner and Coast Starlight. Hop on at your nearest Amtrak station and be sure to get off at the SBA stop, just 1.3 miles from the Santa Barbara Inn.

If you’re driving:

Traffic starts building up in the Los Angeles and Santa Barbara areas around 2 and 3pm respectively. We recommend arriving in Santa Barbara by 3pm on Friday to avoid sitting in any unnecessary traffic, or arriving after rush hour has tapered off around 8 or 9pm.

Participants are responsible for arranging and covering the cost of their own transportation to and from Santa Barbara, as well as transportation to all scheduled event locations during the conference. This includes airfare, personal vehicles, rideshare services, taxis, and any other method of travel.

Hotel Details

The Santa Barbara Inn will serve as our host hotel for the weekend. First opened in 1962, the 64-year old boutique hotel went through a complete renovation in 2013 and reopened its doors in 2016.

A very limited room block has been arranged for Southwest Exchange guests at a rate of $349++ per night. Both King and Double rooms are available on a limited basis. If you plan on staying at the hotel and driving, self-parking is available in the residential neighborhood surrounding the hotel or valet is available for $29 per car per night.
