Are You Ready to Lead, Serve, and Make an Impact?
Introducing Junior League of Santa Barbara Teens

The Junior League of Santa Barbara is proud to launch Junior League of Santa Barbara Teens (“JLSB Teens”), a leadership development and community impact program for high school girls throughout Santa Barbara County.

Founded in 1924, the Junior League of Santa Barbara has spent more than 100 years developing women leaders and creating meaningful community impact through volunteer action, collaboration, and training. Junior League Teens extends that mission to the next generation by providing young women with opportunities to grow as leaders, serve their community, build confidence, and create lasting connections.

JLSB Teens is designed to empower participants through leadership development, mentorship, volunteerism, and civic engagement.

What Participants Can Expect

Beginning in August 2026, participants will attend monthly meetings at the Junior League office in downtown Santa Barbara. Meetings are expected to last approximately two hours and will focus on a different leadership development or life-skills topic each month.

Educational sessions will be led by Junior League of Santa Barbara active members, sustaining members, community professionals, and local women leaders across a variety of industries and areas of expertise.

Topics may include:

  • Public speaking and communication
  • Leadership and parliamentary procedure
  • Financial wellness and budgeting
  • Entrepreneurship and business skills
  • Emotional intelligence
  • Healthy relationships
  • College and career readiness
  • Community advocacy and volunteerism
  • Teamwork and collaboration

Participants will also:

  • Build friendships and meaningful community connections
  • Participate in volunteer and civic engagement opportunities
  • Receive mentorship and networking opportunities
  • Attend youth-focused educational and leadership events
  • Collaborate on a year-long community impact project designed and led by the teens themselves

The program will also include special programming opportunities such as inclusion in JLSB leadership conferences, résumé and interview workshops, career exploration opportunities, and participation in Real World Ready: A Life Skills Seminar for Young Women, a half-day seminar focused on practical, real-world skills not always taught in the classroom.
